Heat Reflector/Shield
  Firebox cracks generally occur in the backwall since this is where there is the highest concentration of heat from a fire.  The heat shield does an outstanding job of reducing and spreading the fire's damaging heat and as a result keeping the backwall protected against further damage.  The heat reflected out is not significant, but the protection is outstanding!
