gas logs--such as Oak. Lighter logs--such as White Birch, quickly develop

Don't buy gas
logs for heat. They are primarily designed for aesthetics--NOT FOR HEAT!

Always have your
gas log set installed by a professional installer specifically trained in gas.

After
installation, gas logs should be tested with a Combustible Gas Detector by the
installer to ensure against toxic gas spillage coming into the living area.

A chimney cap is
recommended to keep out birds, rodents and other animals since the damper will
always be open.
