These are energy efficient
stove inserts fueled by gas that are installed into an existing
masonry fireplace and
are
vented directly out through the top of the chimney flue. They provide an excellent heat
source in a defined area, have the convenience of typically being operated by a
remote control, and show a lovely display of attractive gas logs.
A metal surround completes the look by covering the rest of the fireplace
opening around the stove, giving it a nice built-in looking appearance.
Most models can also be accessorized with either gold or silver trim or louvers
if desired. |

How do I know what size I would want? |

The fireplace heat output is measured in
BTU's. A BTU (British Thermal Unit) refers to the heating power of a gas
appliance as measured by the amount of energy it produces in one hour. On
average, 10,000 BTU can heat up approximately 500 square feet depending on the
floor plan, windows, ceiling height, etc. Gas fireplace inserts generally
range from 23,500 to 38,000 BTU's (natural gas) in maximum heating potential.
The heating control is adjustable on the inserts. |

We recommend and install the
Regency Fireplace
Products. In our
opinion, they have the highest
quality products at a competitive price, combined with excellent customer
service. The Regency gas models do not
require electricity to work. They use a standing pilot ignition system,
just like a gas water heater. The system operates with a pilot light so
there is always a flame to ignite the spark. The pilot light also
generates the power needed to operate the valve, so that if the pilot light gets
blown out accidentally, the valve shuts off and the gas flow stops. A
great safety feature. Electricity is required to operate the blower fan in
order to send heat faster into the room.
